Jean has been AEIDL's Managing Director since 2006.
His tasks include supervising AEIDL's development, projects, accounting and daily activities, as well as liaising with the Board and the General Assembly. Jean is also responsible for the management of three European Economic Interest Groupings (EEIGs) AEIDL is involved in: DevNet (for the FARNET Support Unit with DG MARE), RURANET (for the Rural Development Contact Point with DG AGRI) and NEEMO (for the framework contract for the monitoring and communication of LIFE projects with DGs ENV and CLIMA and EASME).
Jean has developed, through various positions, strong managerial skills, dealing with multi-discipline teams of different nationalities and backgrounds.
Before joining AEIDL, he successfully led a number of projects in the very competitive world of aviation. He worked for 16 years with British Airways, starting as Finance Manager for the Benelux region, and was for the last 8 years Commercial/Country Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg.
Jean holds a degree in Accountancy and is fluent in French, English and Dutch.
