Leticia Abarca Velencoso

Rural and Territorial Development Expert

Leticia Abarca Velencoso is a Rural and Territorial Development Expert at AEDIL since 2023. She works as a Project Manager of several Horizon Europe projects related to territorial development and digitalization of rural areas.

She holds a Degree in Political Science and a Degree in International Studies from the Carlos III of Madrid University, having focused her academic path on innovation, regional development and green policies. She had developed several international stays at other universities such as Riga Stradins University and the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. In addition, she holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Funding and Management of EU Projects from the University of Valencia and a Master’s Degree in the European Union, with a specialization in Economy from UNED.

She has been working since 2020 in the field of local development both in the public and private sectors. Her professional experience has been always related to the European local ecosystem, as she began her career as an EU Project Officer and LEADER Evaluator in a Local Action Group and after a period of working as a Consultant for local authorities in the field of sustainable and smart development, she joined AEIDL.

She has also developed several articles and academic papers on international issues related to sustainability, innovation and local policy. She speaks fluently Spanish, English and Portuguese.
