Anahit Badalian

Anahit Badalian is from Armenia, the northern mountainous region called Tavush. She graduated from the Yerevan State University, Department of Journalism. After getting her Master’s degree in TV journalism, she founded the Berd Women’s Resource Center in her native town of Berd, aimed at the local women’s social-economic sustainable development through educational, healthcare, and job-creation projects. Within the BWRC establishment in 2012, she was the chief editor of the monthly newspaper called “We Are”, which focused on local women’s issues, living in the border communities of Armenia. After specializing in social entrepreneurship, Anahit and her team members established the Bears&Berries eco-center, as the first social enterprise in the region of Tavush, led by women and developing tourism in rural areas. She enjoyed being a local TV reporter, covering the news mainly from the border regions. She started her career as a community coach in 2021, joining the project of EU LEADER Armenia, and later became one of the local group’s managers of the Tavush region. She is also a proud alumna of Impact Hub and the USG network worldwide.
