Luca Bizzarri

Luca Bizzarri is public manager at the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen, Italy, with specific responsibilities linked to the enhancement of policies targeting young people and local development through cultural projects and CCI (Cultural and Creative Industries). At national level, he also participates in permanent discussion tables, together with other regions of Italy, on the empowerment of young people in accordance with the principle of ‘youth-led development’, and their participation in decision-making processes of related policies in order to promote skills for leading an autonomous life.Luca Bizzarri was recently included in the expert list edited by the Partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the field of youth. The main focus of the Partnership is on the future improvement of youth policies and, in particular, with reference to the connection between youth and citizenship and ensuring a better understanding between the youth policies and practices of the countries of the European Union and those of the South-Mediterranean countries. In his work, Luca Bizzarri aims to ensure that the implementation of youth policies at regional and national level is seen in the content of the development of integrated local policies for the entire society. Since 2016 he has co-managed the Newfabric book series (Pacini ed.) on social innovation and local development practicesLuca Bizzarri has a background in legal studies. In 2000, he was awarded a diploma in legal studies at Leeds University (UK), and in 2002 he received a master degree in law at the University of Ferrara (I), followed in 2008 by a PhD diploma at the University of Ferrara (I) in the field of European Private Law and Comparison. He has been inter alia Research Assistant to the «Study Group on the European Civil Code» of the Max Planck Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht, Hamburg (D).
