Claire became AEIDL’s Managing Director in September 2020. She is responsible for ensuring organisational governance and delivering on the organisation’s vision and strategic orientations. She represents the organisation externally and oversees an integrated, flexible and highly performing team.
Claire is also co-director in the two EEIGs of which AEIDL is a member: DEVNET and RURANET.
Claire is an experienced EU affairs Director and has worked in EU external policy and programmes for over 15 years. She joins AEIDL after a 7-year spell as Executive Director of Cardno Emerging Markets, Belgium, where she and her teams designed, implemented and evaluated technical cooperation projects in the fields of agriculture and rural development, trade enhancement, and support to SMEs, bringing about sustainable and inclusive growth in EuropeAid’s beneficiary countries.
Solution centric, she brings an in-depth management experience, with a focus on articulating strategy into operational deliverables.
Claire studied international relations and European integration in Bordeaux, Bristol and Moscow. Her mother tongue is French, and she speaks English fluently, as well as Russian at an intermediate level.
