(17 March 2015) – Two complementary events will take place between May 30 and June 5, 2015: the “European Sustainable Development Week” and “Green Week”.
The first European Sustainable Development Week will take place from 30 May – 5 June 2015. This European-wide initiative, supported by ESDN, the European Sustainable Development Network, has the aim of stimulating and making visible activities, projects and events that promote sustainable development.
Registration for initiatives is open to all forms of government agencies, research centres, educational institutions, museums, foundations, associations, businesses as well as individual citizens, etc.
Organised by the European Commission, the 2015 edition of Green Week, the biggest annual conference on European environment policy, will take place in Brussels from 3 to 5 June. The theme will be “Nature – our health, our wealth”.
Together with the Green Week sessions and workshops, there will also be an exhibition with around 40 stands displaying interesting projects and ideas from green businesses, NGOs, local and regional authorities, European and international bodies, and so on. Deadline for online registration is 2 April 2015. Natural parks, authorities in charge of the environment, associations, private companies, NGOs, research institutes, media, groups of citizens, stakeholders in other sectors (tourism, education, agriculture, etc.) can also organise Green Week satellite events in Europe. Nature and biodiversity events may get EU support.
