Bringing together top players and experts to define EU policies for Climate Smart Agriculture

Jun 14, 2024 | News

On 23 May AEIDL organised its first EU Multi Actor Platform under the BEATLES Project. The purpose of this new Pan-European community of experts is to look at ways to make EU policies, and in particular the Common Agricultural Policy, more sustainable and benefit from the digital transition. They will examine the outputs and evidence coming up from BEATLES project and assess their potential to be turned into actionable EU policy recommendations.

The meeting was facilitated by our AEIDL agricultural expert Blanca Casares and Senior Expert Serafin Pazos-Vidal. To stimulate the discussion, Blanca presented a number of briefing papers with the timeline leading post 2027 CAP reform, a study on fairness in agriculture and how it is supported by other policies and a research piece that points towards the potential inconsistencies across EU policies to support sustainability

We had the privilege of having senior representatives from DG AGRI, the Commission Joint Research Centre, and EIP-AGRI.

This event is part of AEIDL’s efforts to develop policy recommendations and tools to support the policy makers and implementers in the design and implementation of policy measures that support adoption of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA). You will be able to find the meeting report and interventions of the EU speakers in the BEATLES website. If you are an expert involved in these topics, you are welcome to contact Blanca () as we will organise a session before the end of the year.
