Common statement supporting community-led local development

Nov 8, 2012 | News

(8 November 2012) – Together with other organisations and networks, AEIDL has published a common statement supporting the European Commission’s proposal to make community-led local development (CLLD) a major strand of the future EU cohesion policy.

In this common statement, a number of European civil society organisations and networks with a long experience and deep knowledge of local development welcome the proposals of the European Commission for CLLD.

They call for action by European, national, regional and local stakeholders to ensure that this initiative can be turned into a major strand of the Common Strategic Framework (CSF) and Partnership Agreements which encompasses all the funds and covers different urban, rural and fisheries areas, building on past successes of the CLLD approach and overcoming obstacles encountered in its application.
