(17 April 2014) – Our long-time colleague, Eamon O’Hara, was recently interviewed by Transition Network on AEIDL’s “Europe in Transition” study. “One of the most fascinating recent studies into the impact of Transition”, according to the interviewer, Rob Hopkins, one of the founders of the network.
Based in Totnes, Devon, UK, Transition Network is a charitable organisation whose role is to inspire, encourage, connect, support and train communities as they self-organise around the Transition model, creating initiatives that rebuild resilience and reduce CO2 emissions.
Transition Network runs events, conferences, trainings, blogs, webinars and produces monthly newsletters, books, films, guides, tweets, etc., all with the intention of best supporting those around the world who are doing Transition.
In the interview, Eamon underlines the “catalytic effect” of community-led action and summarizes the process having led to the AEIDL study and its follow-up, the establishment of the ECOLISE network, the European network for community-led action on climate change and sustainability, which currently gathers 21organisations around Europe.
