(24 March 2015) – Following the first European Rural Parliament, on 18-19 April 2014, the Croatian Rural Development Network (HMRR) will organise in Baranja, on 16-18 April 2015, the first Croatian Rural Parliament.
The event will gather representatives of rural communities from all over the country to discuss possibilities and prospects for development in Croatian rural areas and to see how they can make an impact on the policies shaping their lives.
The basic idea of the first Croatian Rural Parliament is to make the voice of rural stakeholders better heard.
Rural Parliaments of European countries give a strong impulse to the development of participative democracy. Through Rural Parliaments, inhabitants of rural areas have a chance to influence policy making and implementation of rural development as well as strengthen connections and partnerships.
