(06 January 2022) – On 1 January, FARNET joined forces with the organisation responsible for supporting monitoring and evaluation of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF), known as FAME, to create a new network called ‘FAME-NET’.
31 December 2021 marked the formal end of the FARNET Support Unit which, since 2009, has been instrumental in supporting the successful introduction of community-led local development (CLLD) to fishing and aquaculture areas.
On 1 January 2022, FARNET joined forces with the organisation responsible for supporting monitoring and evaluation of the EMFF, known as FAME, to create a new network called FAME-NET.
The new support unit will carry on much of the work started by FARNET, including transnational seminars for Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs), meetings for managing authorities and national networks and animation of the network of fisheries areas.
The resources produced by FARNET over the years will still be available online.
