(17 March 2015) – AEIDL will welcome Hannes Lorenzen, Advisor on Agriculture and Rural Development for the Greens/European Free Alliance in the European Parliament on the occasion of its General Assembly on 28 March 2015. “The inside view of the new European Parliament” will be the theme of his presentation and of the debate that will follow.
Hannes Lorenzen is co-president of the European Rural Development Network Forum Synergies, and co-founder and chairperson of PREPARE, the “Partnership for Rural Europe” network for Central and Eastern European Member States.
He is also a co-founder and leader of the European Reform Alliance ARC2020 (Agricultural and Rural Convention), which has gathered more than 160 networks and umbrella organisations of civil society – farmers, environmentalists, animal welfare groups, rural development and public health organisations. This alliance has negotiated and agreed upon a common proposal on CAP reform and are working with the European Commission, the European Parliament and EU Member States on a paradigm shift in European agriculture and a renaissance of rural regions.
