International migrations and the refugee crisis

Sep 24, 2015 | News

(24 September 2015) – The OECD has just published its “2015 International Migration Outlook” and a policy brief on the refugee crisis.

OECD countries are facing an unprecedented refugee crisis and the situation requires a comprehensive and co-ordinated international response to address the immediate needs of asylum seekers and the longer-term challenge of helping them integrate.

This is the main message of two new OECD documents, the “2015 International Migration Outlook” and a Policy Brief on the Refugee Crisis.

The “2015 International Migration Outlook” analyses recent development in migration movements and policies in OECD countries and some non member countries as well as the evolution of recent labour market outcomes of immigrants in OECD countries.

It includes a special chapter on: “Changing Patterns in the international migration of doctors and nurses to OECD countries”, as well as country notes and a statistical annex.
