Junior Communication Officer – Job Ad

AEIDL, the European Association for Innovation in Local Development, is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated full time Junior Communication Officer to support the implementation of communications activities on our Rural Pact Support Office contract.

Role and responsibilities: 

The Junior Communication Officer will work under the supervision of the Communication Officer, supporting the delivery of a range of communication activities. The primary tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the writing, editing and proofreading of texts for the Rural Pact website, and digital and print publications
  • Writing social media copy and developing appealing visuals for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Identifying and adapting visuals for the project website and newsletter, as well as other project outputs
  • Contributing to social media and website performance monitoring and reporting
  • Uploading content on the Rural Pact website
  • Contributing to the layout of project materials, such as event reports and good practices
  • Assisting in events and workshop organisation.
  • Tasks may be expanded depending on the profile and interests of the selected candidate.

Qualifications and experience :

Essential

  • Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field
  • At least one year of relevant experience in communications
  • Excellent level of English (C2 or native)
  • Proven writing and editing skills
  • Experience with social media and website management
  • Experience with creation and management of visuals
  • Quick learner
  • Team player
  • Keen interest in digital communications
  • Good eye for and attention to detail

Desirable

  • Experience with graphic design (Canva or Adobe Creative suite) and video production
  • Experience with organising events and campaigns
  • Knowledge and understanding of EU policies, particularly rural and regional development
  • Experience of working on EU projects
  • Working knowledge of French (other European languages are welcome)
