(10 October 2019) – In the series of events organised for the 30th anniversary of AEIDL, the focus group, ‘Looking towards 2021-2027 citizen climate action’, gathered 20 participants – activists, environmental practitioners and policy-makers from across Europe – on 21 September, the European Day of Sustainable Communities.

The objective was to scrutinise Cohesion Policy + EAFRD priorities in order to identify potential funding sources for citizen climate actions.
We wanted to explore if there is room for manoeuvre for citizen-led initiatives in the field of climate breakdown in the new programming period (2021-2027) and in which way.
Based on this analysis, we would like to create the first components for guidance on how to access EU Cohesion funding + EAFRD for citizen-led climate initiatives (which could be further elaborated with appropriate funding at a later stage).
