(10 September 2015) – Concerned about the fate of thousands of migrants seeking refuge in Europe, AEIDL would like to open its website to initiatives, actions, projects promoted by citizen groups, organisations or local authorities, that can improve the lives of these people in need who are knocking on our door, asking for our help.
Through its networks, partners, projects, publications, AEIDL wants to help address this challenge, the most dramatic in Europe since the end of World War II, by promoting awareness of citizen-led initiatives dealing with relief, reception and integration of those fleeing war and misery.
Your selection should be based on the following criteria:
- Participative initiatives, promoted or implemented by citizens, groups, associations, NGOs, businesses, professional organisations, public or private institutions …
- Have a local dimension (or regional, national or EU if having a local objective/impact).
- Providing tangible benefits (accommodation, employment, social inclusion, quality of life, cultural exchanges between “hosts” and “guests” …).
- Transferable elsewhere, with necessary adaptations to the national, regional or local context.
If you are involved in or know one or more such initiatives, please write a short summary (in English or French, and mentioning a contact point/person) and send it to Jean-Luc Janot.
