(17 September 2019) – In the series of events organised for the 30th anniversary of AEIDL, the ‘Sustainable Community Focus Group: looking towards 2021-2027 citizen climate action’ workshop will take place on Saturday 21 September (9:30 – 19:30), in Brussels.

The objectives are to:
• Actively contribute to the third edition of the European Day of Sustainable Communities;
• Scrutinise Cohesion Policy + EAFRD priorities in order to identify potential funding sources for citizen climate actions. We would like to explore if there is room for manoeuvre for citizen-led initiatives in the field of climate breakdown in the new programming period (2021-2027) and in which way.
Based on this analysis, we would like to create the first components for guidance on how to access EU Cohesion funding + EAFRD for citizen-led climate initiatives (which could be further elaborated with appropriate funding at a later stage). As a follow-up of this focus group, AEIDL will prepare the roadmap that will lead to the design and publication of free online guidance on how to access EU funding for citizen climate action.
