(17 June 2021) – The 2021 edition of Eurostat’s interactive publication “The European economy since the start of the millennium” is released today.

This publication gives an overview of how the European economy has evolved since 2000 for a large range of data, answering questions such as: How have prices changed during this period? How has trade evolved? Is the unemployment rate lower or higher today than at the start or the millennium? Are house prices higher or lower? On what is the government spending money?
Answers to these questions and many more can be found in this publication through short texts and interactive visualisations, where you can compare your country with other countries.
This 2021 edition only describes the situation up to the year 2020 at the most. It is the first edition showing data from some sources for the initial impact (during 2020) of the COVID-19 crisis.
