Transport research: compendium published

Jul 5, 2013 | News

(05 July 2013) – The compendium to the Transport Research & Innovation Portal (TRIP) has just been published. It presents an overview of transport research and funding in the European Research Area and beyond, in a total 36 countries.

The TRIP Web Portal is a comprehensive database of transport research, containing the results and best practices of some 300 research programmes and over 7 000 projects carried out in the European Research Area since the Fourth Framework Programme (FP4) started in 1994.

A key information source for policy makers and research managers, the TRIP Portal is developed and maintained by the TRIP Project Consortium (which includes AEIDL) and funded by the European Commission Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) within the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for Research and Innovation.

The compendium is a snapshot of the website portal and sets out the rationale for the web portal and the structure used to present the large number of research projects carried out on a broad range of transport themes. The themes and the scope of each theme are outlined in Chapter 2.

It is followed by an overview of the transport research organisation in the 36 countries. The country overviews include the national approach to transport research, and list key organisations involved and on-going programmes sponsored by these organisations.
