Claire Jordan is the successor to Jean Vanweydeweld, who over the past decade fruitfully oversaw the diversification of the non-profit organisation’s activities. AEIDL currently delivers EU-wide projects and initiatives that foster rural and territorial development, green growth, employment and social innovation.

A French national, Claire Jordan brings 15 years of experience in EU affairs, with a strong track record in acquiring and managing large EU technical assistance contracts around the world.

From 2013 to 2020, she was Executive Director of Cardno Emerging Markets Belgium, leading a multicultural team of 17 permanent staff. She and her teams designed, implemented and evaluated technical cooperation projects in the fields of agriculture and rural development, trade enhancement, and support to SMEs, bringing about sustainable and inclusive growth in EuropeAid’s beneficiary countries.

Claire was selected by the Board of AEIDL for her dynamic and open management style, as well as her ability to lead from the front, transforming strategic objectives into operational deliverables.

Educated in political science in Bordeaux, Bristol and Moscow, Claire has lived and worked in Brussels since 2005. She is married with two boys, and when she is not busy delivering on AEIDL’s mission or spending time with her family, she pursues her musical interests as a member of a Brussels choir and playing the violin.

Warm welcome, Claire!
