(14 June 2018) – A handbook published by the FAME and FARNET Support Units can serve as guidance and inspiration for evaluating Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) supported by Local Action Groups.

Community-Led Local Development involves a specific methodology, developed originally for rural development (the so-called ‘LEADER approach’). Due to its bottom-up, partnership-based character, CLLD is expected to foster socio-economic development in a way that cannot be delivered by top-down policies.
‘FARNET Guide #15: Evaluating CLLD – Handbook for LAGs and FLAGs’ is a tool for Local Action Groups (LAGs), including Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs), funded from one or several of the four European Structural and Investment Funds as well as external evaluators and other stakeholders.
It is available in six languages (EN, DE, ES, FR, IT and PL) and provides easy-to-use tools and methods, along with examples from different LAGs and FLAGs across Europe.
