(08 May 2018) – The European Social Fund Transnational Platform has published its recommendations for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2021-2027).

AEIDL has been providing technical assistance to the EU-level platform for transnational cooperation in the European Social Fund (ESF) since 2014. This policy paper, drafted by staff members and a number of thematic experts, outlines the Platform’s view of how the Multiannual Financial Framework post-2020 could foster more transnationality, social policy experimentation and social innovation.
The recommendations include proposals on how to:
• improve transnationality in the framework of the European Social Fund,
• better implement the partnership principle,
• further focus the ESF 20% earmarking on poverty and social exclusion.
