“Capitalising on the good practises and lessons learned from the European Smart Villages Initiatives” is a project funded by the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), and is fully implemented by AEIDL.
The overall objective of this project is to capitalise on the good practises and lessons learned from a selection of examples from the European Smart/Digital Villages initiatives and to develop a practical guide for the implementation of a twinning/knowledge transfer programme between European countries and the rest of the region of Europe and Central Asia.
In addition to the development of a practical guide, the project also entails awareness-raising on Digital Villages in Europe and Central Asia, and the elaboration of a twinning / knowledge transfer approach through research with special focus on the 18 countries covered by the FAO’s Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia. This also includes the analysis of success factors and constraints of the town-twinning concept conducted, as well as a report with recommendations.
