Empowering the FUTure though innovative Smart Solutions for rURAL areas
FUTURAL is an ambitious Horizon Europe project (2023-2027) aimed at delivering smart solutions customized to meet the specific needs of rural communities. Through the project, FUTURAL will design, test, and implement community-led, social, technological, and business innovations in diverse rural contexts, considering geographical and socio-cultural factors. By doing so, it will offer a range of digital Smart Solutions (SS) developed within the project, along with solutions from other EU initiatives, to effectively address significant societal, environmental, and financial challenges. Ultimately, FUTURAL aims to empower rural communities to actively participate in and drive positive change.
The FUTURAL collaboration brings together 21 partners from ten (10) EU countries to reinforce a multi-actor approach by bringing together academic and research institutes, industrial companies, service providers and non-profit organisations from across the IT, Social Science and Humanities, Business, Rural research, policy and public administration sectors.
Within this collaborative effort, AEIDL assumes responsibility for WP6 on Policy-making and Governance. WP6 will focus on generating policy recommendations and governance frameworks that promote sustainable and inclusive development in rural areas. Furthermore, it will strive to maximize the project’s contribution to the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) objectives regarding smart village development. In addition to leading WP6, AEIDL also spearheads the EU-RIF Platform, an inclusive platform dedicated to enhancing stakeholder engagement across Europe. The platform serves as a hub for knowledge and technology transfer, enabling the exchange of expertise and ideas at all levels.
