SERIGO

SERIGO – Social Economy for Resilience, Inclusion and Good life in Rural areas

In response to the challenges faced by European rural areas – societal, demographic, economic and environmental – SERIGO focuses on how social innovation approaches, and in particular those from the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), enhances resilience, social inclusion, and overall well-being in rural communities.

AEIDL is a key partner in SERIGO, responsible for the project’s impact. Specifically, AEIDL leads the work package focused on enhancing EU policies related to social inclusion and the social economy in rural areas. Additionally, AEIDL coordinates the project’s communication, dissemination, and exploitation activities, as well as the establishment of the Community of Practice (CoP). AEIDL brings unique added value to the consortium through its extensive experience in managing communication, dissemination, and stakeholder engagement, as well as its expertise in managing networks and stakeholder groups.

The project will:

  • Conduct community-based research to explore the potential of the social economy and social innovation in promoting inclusivity and improving social inclusion in rural areas, including through case studies and pilot testing.
  • Foster constructive debates and collaborations on the topic among diverse stakeholders in Europe.
  • Provide policymakers with recommendations for policy development around social inclusion in rural areas using the approaches of the social and solidarity economy.
